Bienvenue à Montréal? deux conversations
By Terry Rutherford
Quebec, Canada: Split Time Press, 2008. Edition of 26.

3 x 4"; 32 pages. Two 16-page accordion books wrapped by a 1" printed band closure. Each book consists of 6 double-page laser copy views of Mount Royal Cross (a prominent feature of Montreal). The valley of each spread contains two lip-like pop-ups "speaking" the conversation. The books laid into a folded cardstock box with paper title on spine.

A non-native of Montreal is frustrated in her attempts to speak French.

Terry Rutherford: "The text is French and English with translation. The book is inspired by the artist's vision of the relationship between Montreal's two linguistic communities."
