The
True Collector
Text by Frederica Postman.
With original art by Bonnie Stone. An alphabetical exploration of
the fancies, follies and foibles of collecting and collectors. Wisdoms
and witticisms from: "The True Collector could not say: Nothing
that costs only a dollar is worth having," to "Innocent
Bystander: Well, you can't buy everything. The True Collector: I'm
trying." Includes such treasures as: a moveable doll, a pop-up
of a lighthouse (that now lives in the middle of a farm in Vermont!),
handcolored prints, original collage, and tip-ins of a bookplate,
a cigar band, and postage stamps, plus an original game for collectors.
Twenty-six, seven-inch square folders are printed letterpress and
housed unbound in a clear Plexiglas box. Edition of 100 is signed
by author and artist.
