Dead Tree Scrolls

7.5 x 5.25"; 56 pages. Images captured using three digital cameras, a Nikon Coolpix 5700, a Nikon D70, and a Nikon D80. Printed with Epson Photo Stylus R2880 printer with UltraChrome K3 pigment inks on Epson Premium Presentation Paper Matte. Papyrus font. Coil binding with green see through cover and lightweight cardboard back.

Colophon: "The Dead Tree Scrolls first edition was created in 2005. This second edition was inspired by my fried Mary Hale, who expressed interest in having a copy (of the first edition). OOPS, equipment and software have changed so much, a reworking was required. Since I can't keep my camera from seeking out dead tree images, the past five years have added many images to my collection. About 17 new images have been added in this edition. "

Printed on Epson Enhanced Matte paper with an Epson Stylus Photo R2880 printer with pigment inks. Bound in 2-ply Westminster board wrapped with Fabriano Ingres paper.

Images of keys - house, typewriter, piano - interspersed with a poem about finding the key to fulfillment.

Many years ago it seemed to me
My life was written in a minor key
And played and danced and sung
By others more than me. ...

Eight photographs that incorporate in various way the Blue Moon - signs, objects, diagrams, even moons.

The women of the artist's family - from her granddaughter to her granddaughter's father's father's father's mother - presented on images of commemorative stamps.

This Second Edition is not only larger in format than the First Edition but has a sewn (as opposed to a coil) binding.

Colophon: "This piece was originally created as a wall installation for the show Women in Media Arts at Pacific Lutheran University in 1998. After it was created, it cried out to me constantly to make it into a book.

"There was a first edition ten copies, coil bound (now sold out), created in 2005. ...

"The images are from our family records. The text was written by Ollie Streubel, Verna Marroy, Lori Apana, and myself."
