Hand-blown glass egg: robin’s egg blue and gold leaf by Kevin Shluker. Box: two-piece custom 4.5” cube crafted of holly and cherry woods by Rainer Facklam. Miniature book nests inside the glass egg which rests in the bottom of the cube.

Transmutation

2.5 x 3.5” Linocut illustrations add to and extend the dream weave. Letterpress printed and handcolored. Grey text pages sewn into midnight blue wrappers.

Dreamtexts in two small books housed together in a grey paper slipcase. The simplicity of form and material in this book suggests the ephemeral and fleeting quality of dreams. Volume I is the first line of Kafka's metamorphosis, Volume II the artist's response. A pairing of voices, parallel and simultaneous texts that are independent of yet suggestively build upon and draw from each other. One could imagine this call and response continuing improvisationally, the composite whole equaling more than the sum of the parts.
